Michael Rosenfeld is Principal and Managing Partner of MICROS Communications/AM Venture Partners, privately held, professional firms that commercialize and invest in innovative ideas, products, technologies and services with the goal to create focused, sustainable and profitable businesses. Mr. Rosenfeld established MICROS Communications in 1985 and AM Venture Partners in 1999. As a company founder and serial entrepreneur, he combined the firms in 2003 to serve a variety of clients in the US and overseas.


A life-long sailor, Mr. Rosenfeld served as Commodore of Del Rey Yacht Club in 2022, which marked the 70th anniversary of the founding of this premier yacht club in Marina del Rey, California. Currently, he holds the position of Staff Commodore, fulfilling his fourth year on the Bridge of DRYC. Mr. Rosenfeld is a second-generation yacht club member and a lifetime Board of Directors member.


From 2003-2020, Mr. Rosenfeld was a commercial diplomat in the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office who served as Vice-Consul and Senior Advisor for Energy, Environment & Infrastructure with the UK’s Department for International Trade, (previously known as UK Trade & Investment), the British Government’s international business development department at the British ConsulateGeneral, Los Angeles. In this role, he led the British Government's Clean Technology sector in the USA and gained significant expertise in renewable energy, environmental technologies, and sustainable infrastructure. Mr. Rosenfeld also served as a member of the UK’s Climate Change group addressing global warming solutions in the USA, the British Ambassador's Clean Energy Strategy team in the USA, and led the UK's Low Carbon, Know-How Strategic Initiative across North America (USA and Canada).


As a team leader of commercial officers in the USA, he represented UK Plc. across a range of industry sectors by supporting British companies, exporting technologies, products and services into the USA and identifying joint ventures and other partnership opportunities as well as identifying inward investment opportunities for American companies seeking to expand into the UK. In addition to serving as USA lead officer for the Clean Technology sector, Mr. Rosenfeld’s responsibilities included the promotion of UK commercial interests across the US West Coast including California; Arizona; Utah; Nevada; Oregon; Washington; Hawaii; and British Columbia, Canada.


Mr. Rosenfeld has been a corporate investment, marketing and business development executive in Los Angeles since 1985. He established AM Venture Partners, a venture capital and investment firm, in Los Angeles in 1999. Mr. Rosenfeld has raised capital for, served as a director on corporate boards, and represented national and international companies in the environmental, energy, engineering, maritime, telecommunications and healthcare sectors. He also has served in senior-level executive management positions with two global environmental engineering, construction and technology firms - Montgomery Watson Harza (acquired by Stantec) and Earth Tech (acquired by AECOM).


Mr. Rosenfeld is a member of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) Leadership Council and serves on the program committees for Renewable Energy World and VerdeXchange. He is a frequent speaker at numerous clean technology conferences nationwide and is often interviewed and quoted in the media as an expert source on clean energy and environmental technologies, finance, and public policies.


Mr. Rosenfeld began his career as a journalist in Los Angeles in 1978. He continues to write occasionally, contributing to a variety of environmental, energy, maritime and engineering publications. He earned a joint Master of Business Administration/Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California and dual Bachelor’s Degrees in political science and history from the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Rosenfeld and his family resides in Los Angeles, California.
